This past Saturday, June 1st, the WIlliam Campbell graduating class of 2024 held their graduation ceremony with a class of 61 at the Liberty University Vines Center.
Friends and family of the class of 2024 poured into the Vines Center at 4 o’ clock for an afternoon celebration of William Campbell High School seniors' successful graduation. Outside of the center families proudly posed for photographs. The event kicked off with a graduation class processional featuring a live performance of the WCCS Concert Band.
Principal Dabney Hansen delivered the opening address, encouraging the (now former) students to “dream big” and give more than they take. “William Campbell has prepared you for the next chapter of your lives. Embrace this moment, celebrate your achievements,” Principal Dabney said, “Never forget, once a general, always a general.”
She also acknowledged members of the school board, members of the community, and Mrs. Baley, who would be retiring after 26 years of service.
Following her welcoming address, Principal Dabney recognized several students for outstanding academic achievement. The first to be recognized were the top ten seniors, each of which had achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The top ten seniors included: Valedictorian Elliot Kennedy Puckett, Salutatorian Abigail Ruth Spickard, Class Historian Emma Grace Baldwin, Braelyn Grace Wilson, Joseph Nathan Yoder, Kasanndra Marie Burton, Joey David Isaman, Mariana Andrea Ortiz-Ortiz, Cooper Joseph Elder and Joshua Johnson.
